Our Customer's Vision
As a first concept, with no other locations, Juice Valley was not a renovation or rebrand of an existing store. It was the physical introduction of who they are and what they offer. Because of that, every decision that we collaborated on together carried weight. The layout, finishes, lighting, and overall presence needed to communicate clarity, freshness, and energy in a way that immediately resonated with passing shoppers.
Located just off one of the central staircases at Woodfield Mall, the unit sits in one of the most visible and heavily trafficked areas of the shopping center. The owners wanted to take full advantage of that central positioning by creating a space that felt bright and inviting from every direction. Their cold-pressed juices, smoothies, fruit shakes, and pastries are colorful and fresh by nature, and they wanted the built environment to mirror that same vibrancy. Clean lines, thoughtful material selections, and an open layout helped reinforce the feeling of transparency and quality that their products represent.
Things we had to keep in mind
Building inside Woodfield Mall requires more than standard commercial construction coordination. It requires working within a structured retail environment with clear operational rules set by Woodfield’s property management team and the city of Schaumburg.
Much of the work had to be completed outside of shopping hours, so our team often coordinated overnight shifts to comply with mall policies and minimize disruption. As an open island unit, the space is visible from all sides. That meant cabinetry finishes, millwork detailing, electrical integration, and equipment placement had to be clean and intentional from every vantage point. Operating within an active shopping center required strict adherence to safety protocols, inspections, and coordination with property management.
Launching a first concept inside one of the region’s most active retail centers takes thoughtful planning and disciplined execution. This project set the foundation not just for a storefront, but for a brand’s future growth.
